This lovely image is of none other than

Independance Hall in Philadelphia, PA.

This is where our Founding Fathers

signed the Declaration of Independance

(hence the name of the hall), though

the Declaration is now currently being

held in the National Archives in

Washington, D.C..  This particular

 document is present in much

of British Literature.  The Declaration

is most always connected to the

American Revolution which, for the

British, was a major turning point in

History.  Being such, it became a

a commonplace topic for British Lit.  Since

its origination, the city of Philadelphia

has naturally grown and changed.  This

picture (right) is of modern-day Philly.
